Dear Heather,
I'm pretty familiar with solo trips to Disneyland with two kids, except, mine are four and almost two years old. I'll have to admit, it wasn't easy the first time (husband was working) but it was fun for the boys!
In your case, your kids are a little older so you should have no problem enjoying your time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Many attractions at the Disneyland Resort have a height requirement so depending on your kids' height, you'll know whether they're allowed to ride. You can visit the Disneyland website, scroll over to the "Things to do" tab and click on
attractions for a list of all rides. You can use filters that apply to your particular set of criteria.
Now, if you're curious about the attractions available for
all ages, here are some of my favorite ones at Disneyland:
*"it's a small world" -- this classic ride reminds the young and young at heart that a "smile means friendship to everyone"
*Story Book Land Canal Boats-- I personally love that you can see many tiny kingdoms belonging to some of our favorite Disney princesses and characters.
*Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage-- This submarine ride has been around since the Park opened in 1955. It's currently Nemo-themed and your kids are sure to enjoy it!
*Enchanted Tiki Room-- The Enchanted Tiki Room has an incredible array of Animatronic birds that sing and delight! And you can enjoy a famous Dole Whip cold treat while waiting in line!
*
The Jungle Cruise-- Set sail for a river adventure with some super fun skippers conducting the expedition!
*Pirates of the Carribbean-- Ahoy matey! This one's a crowd favorite and fun enough to leave you singing: "A pirate life's for me!"
I hope this helps.
