I'm planning a september cruise and staying at Pop Century the day before the cruise. What is the best way to get to the disney cruise ship?

    Ahoy there Michelle,

I don't know if you'll be able to get everyone to agree on what the "best" way to get from Walt Disney World to Port Canaveral for your upcoming Disney cruise is, but I'll be happy to share my perspective on the subject.

If you're looking for the most hassle-free way to get to the Port, then I would suggest you book ground transfers with Disney Cruise Line.  This is also a very cost-effective way to get there if your travel party is small (1-2 people).  If you opt for this plan, you will be whisked away from your Walt Disney World resort and transported to your cruise ship via air-conditioned Disney bus.  You'll get to watch fun videos on the way and you needn't worry about directions.  Disney Cruise Line takes care of all that.

In March when I needed to find my way from a Walt Disney World resort to Port Canaveral, we opted for a rental car.  Since there were three in my travel party, it cost about the same to rent a car and drive ourselves there.  They have a nice covered and relatively inexpensive parking deck for the rental car at Port Canaveral and we liked having the flexibility to travel at the times we selected.

A third option is to book a private car service like Mears.  This is the choice you want to make if you have a very large travel party making its way to Port Canaveral.  It is very cost-effective and convenient for large groups.

I'm sure that you will find an acceptable option among those I've suggested.  Wishing you a magical voyage on your Disney cruise!
