Ahoy, Diana!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited to hear that you're planning an adventure aboard Disney Cruise Line! Your buccaneers are going to have so much fun! Each day will be filled with activities for them to choose from. My little cruiser loves to attend the different
Character Experiences offered onboard!
Thank you for sailing by with such an important question. Children under the age of 16, who are U.S. citizens, sailing on a roundtrip voyage with their parents from a U.S. port, and returning to that same U.S. port, do not need a U.S. passport to set sail on Disney Cruise Line. They only need an original (or copy) of their state-issued birth certificate as proof of citizenship! If your children are 16 years of age or older, they would need an original (or copy) of their state-issued birth certificate as well as a government-issued photo ID for proof of citizenship for roundtrip cruises setting sail from a U.S. port. Before your upcoming cruise, I highly recommend taking a look at the
Passport & Travel Documentation information found on Disney Cruise Line's website, just to make sure you have the correct documentation for your entire pirate crew!
I always suggest getting passports for everyone in your family prior to your adventure at sea. In the off chance there is a medical emergency while visiting another country, your entire family will be able to easily fly back to the U.S. if they each have a U.S. passport. My family all travels with ours and it gives me peace of mind throughout our voyage!
Diana, if you think of any more questions while you continue planning for your Disney Cruise, please don't hesitate to visit us again!
