Hi Julie!
Welcome to planDisney!
I am very excited to see that you are planning your 60th birthday celebrations for November! I am planning the same celebrations for January, and I cannot think of a more magical place to enjoy such a special event. It's good to be prepared to make your dining reservations. As you know, these can now be made online up to 60 days in advance, and Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can make reservations for your length of stay (up to 10 days). It's worth noting that restaurants are operating on a limited capacity at this time, so the availability of reservations is also limited. So be ready, with perhaps a second choice of restaurant in case you are unable to secure your favourite locations. It is also worth noting that Guests often change their plans, especially once they have arrived on vacation, so it's a good idea to keep checking back for openings, if you can't successfully reserve your first choices.
As you are staying at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, you will be in a prime location within easy walking distance of restaurants at Disney's BoardWalk and EPCOT! At your Resort hotel you will find one of my favourite restaurants at Walt Disney World: Yachtsman Steakhouse, and The Market at Ale & Compass. Or you could walk (or take the boat across) to the BoardWalk - reservations can be made at
Trattoria al Forno. If you would like to venture into EPCOT, you will be an easy stroll away from the International Gateway entrance, and inside the park you will find
several restaurants located in World Showcase that are currently taking reservations.
Just beside the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT is a Disney Skyliner station. This is such a fun new way to travel around Walt Disney World Resort - I have heard some people say it's almost like another attraction in itself. You could easily take the Skyliner Disney's Hollywood Studios or to Disney's Riviera Resort where reservations are currently being accepted at
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera.
During the phased re-opening of Walt Disney World, we may need a little more considered and careful planning, but our vacations to Walt Disney World Resort can still be a magical experience. Please keep watching the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official updates as they are announced.
Please know we are working to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, and we look forward to providing an update as soon as we have more information to share. Come back and ask as many questions as you like! We are always happy to help you plan your vacation.
