I'm planning to rent a car for one day for my arrival from the airport to WDW. I have also booked the Disney Magical express for both ways. Will they transfer my bags on arrival even if I don't ride?

Unfortunately, guests can not utilize the luggage service unless they are also riding on a Disney Magical Express (DME) bus.

Disney's Magical Express is not a luggage only transfer service.

Before leaving home, guests have two options regarding their luggage and using the DME service:
    1. Put the DME tags on your luggage and upon arrival to the Orlando International Airport go directly to the DME desk.
    2. Do not use the DME tags, get your luggage at Baggage Claim in Orlando and then go to the DME desk.

When guests arrive the Orlando International Airport and have reserved DME, they will check in at the DME Welcome desk. When you check in, if you do not have your bags with you, your luggage will be pulled for DME transfer service and will be delivered to your resort later that day.

If you plan on renting a car, you'll need to pick up your luggage at Baggage Claim.

I'm not a huge fan of Disney's Magical Express, however we've never rented a car just to get us to WDW property. We have rented a car from the airport for our length of stay and we've also rented from National at the WDW Dolphin the day after our arrival for the duration of our vacation. Hope this info helps your arrival into Orlando!
