I’m planning to relocate to central Florida this August. I see that annual pass sales with resume for a limited time on April 20th. I want to know if I buy my pass on April 20th, can I have the pass start after my move in August?

    Hi Alexis,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a question. How exciting to hear that you’re planning to move to Central Florida this year! I was so thrilled to hear that Walt Disney World Annual Passes were going to resume sales later this month. Although I’ve been able to renew my pass every year, my family let theirs lapse a few years later when travel was more difficult… and they’ve regretted it ever since!

I have some good news for you. Typically, the first day that you “activate” your Annual Pass and enter one of the Theme Parks is when the year-long countdown starts. This means that, even if you buy your pass this month, the year will only start when you first visit a Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park in August, provided you don’t use it before that date. Because we don’t know how long the passes will be available, I highly recommend that you purchase your pass as soon as you can, just to make sure you have one available to you after your move.

Good luck with your upcoming move and enjoy every moment when you’re closer to the Magic! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
