I’m planning to purchase annual Florida resident weekday passes for my family this Christmas. Will the start date of my passes be the date of purchase or the date we activate them and visit the park?

Thank you for coming to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question, Carrie! You are such a kind person to give the gift of Disney magic to your family this Christmas!

This time of year, there are numerous reasons why I'm a little jealous of those living in the Sunshine State, but primarily because of the Florida Resident discounts at Walt Disney World! For guests who are conveniently located to Walt Disney World and have some flexibility in their schedule, the Disney Weekday Select Pass is a great option. When you make your purchase, you will be emailed a confirmation code. Your family can use this to link to their My Disney Experience account so that they can make FastPass+ reservations. However, their Disney Weekday Select Pass start date doesn't begin until they physically arrive at the theme parks and activate them.

One thing I wanted to point out, Carrie, is that there will be a verification box in the purchase process for guests with a Florida Resident address for their contact information in My Disney Experience. If your family members are able to verify their Florida residency online, then they can simply go to a Park entrance and use their MagicBands (or cards) linked to their account to enter. Otherwise, they can go to any theme park window or Guest Relations location and show the confirmation number or email, proof of Florida residency (for those 18 and older), and the original payment card used for the purchase to receive their passes.

Merry Christmas, Carrie! We hope to see ya' real soon!

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
