Im planning on going next year in may. Its my first time using the membership, and I would like to know how is the process of reservation. I have 300 points, what if I need more? can I buy them? how do I buy a whole package with tickets and dinning plan?

Welcome Home, Maria Lara! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. It's always a great day when I get to chat with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, and I'll be happy to help with some tips for booking your oh-so-special first Member stay. Let's get right to it!

We've been DVC Members for just about 10 years, and it's a decision that we've never regretted for a minute! The flexibility of our Membership has unlocked so many magical vacations with family and friends, including stays at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa and adventures on the high seas with Disney Cruise Line

The 11-month Home Resort Priority Period opens this month for May 2027 stays, so you're within your window to book that vacation now. This will give you the best selection of accommodations for next year's trip. To get a sense of how many Vacation Points you need, take a look at the Points Charts. These break down exact numbers of points needed by time of year and type of accommodation, so you'll be able to calculate what's possible with the points that you have.

If you find that you require additional points, you can borrow points from your next Use Year to make up the difference. At the time of booking, if the current number of points in your account is not enough to complete the reservation, you'll be asked if you wish to borrow what's needed from the following year.

Bookings can be made over the phone or via the Member website. If you purchased your Membership directly from DVC, I recommend calling Member Services to handle the reservation over the phone. For your first stay only as a direct-purchase Member, you may be eligible for a little bit of pixie dust to help secure a reservation. This is called a "Welcome Home" stay, and it can come in handy if the booking you wish to make is showing as not available.

For instance, let's say you wanted to book a week at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows in a 2-Bedroom Villa.  You have enough points in your account, but the 2-Bedrooms are showing as not available. Sometimes the folks at Member Services are able to work some magic and pull from the cash inventory of rooms to book your stay. Please keep in mind that this is not guaranteed and is only possible for direct Members who have not yet booked a reservation.

Maria Lara, DVC stays don't come as a full travel package like a regular booking for Walt Disney World Resort. Once you book your May trip, you can add a dining plan and tickets via the Member Dashboard. Just log into the Member website, navigate to the "My DVC" option, and select "My Dashboard". Click on your reservation to see several different options for add-ons to your stay.

I hope this information is helpful! It's a lot to take in, so please don't hesitate to send any other questions my way. Wishing you a magical May 2027 vacation!

    Stay Magical!
