Hi Cristiane,
Welcome to planDisney!
How wonderful of you to plan a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort with your mom!
Although it sounds as if your mom might qualify for the
Disability Access Service, you will need to stop by Guest Relations when you arrive to a theme park and speak with a Cast Member. Just explain that you would like to request the service and a Cast Member will talk you through the process.
If you are able to use the Disability Access Service, the Cast Member will register your mom and add you to her service so that you can ride together. So, this is how it works. To request a return time for an attraction, find a Cast Member at the entrance to that attraction. Explain that your mom has the Disability Access Service and you would like to request a return time for the ride. Although you can request the return time without her, when you return to ride the attraction, your mom will need to scan in for the attraction first.
When we have used this service, it has been a life saver. Keep in mind that you can only have one active return time at a time. Also check the other
Services for Guests with Disabilities. In particular, the Guides for Guests with Disabilities might be helpful. There are guides for each of the theme parks -
Magic Kingdom,
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and
Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Given your mom's difficulty standing, I highly suggest making
advanced dining reservations. We love being able to use
Mobile Dine Check-in while we walk to the restaurants. On our last visit, we never had to wait long for our table to be ready.
Cristiane, last but not least, be sure to make
Disney Park Pass system reservations as soon as possible for the dates of your visit! You will need reservations to enter the parks. Sending you lots of pixie dust as you plan the perfect trip with your mom!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
