Hi, Im planning on going to Mickey´s Very Merry Christmas Party but I was wondering, would you say its too much spending the day at Magic Kingdom, with a 7yo before the party? Would it be too much ? Thank you!

Merry Christmas, Nicole! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is such a fun event at Magic Kingdom Park! From the Christmas music to the ‘snow’ falling on Main Street, U.S.A. and seeing the characters dressed in their holiday attire, there is so much to get anyone, even Uncle Scrooge McDuck, into the holiday spirit!

You are asking a great planning question! My wife and I have taken our kids to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party a few times over the years. We have found that it is best to give the kids a whole day at the resort hotel before heading to the party. We let our kids sleep as long as they want that day. We will then head down to the pool for lunch and fun! After that we head back for a nap and then begin getting ready to go to the party! We love wearing our Mickey-ear Santa hats to the party!

Keep in mind that Guests with tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are typically allowed to enter Magic Kingdom Park beginning at 4:00, even though the party doesn’t begin until 7:00. We find that heading to the park around 4:00 or 5:00 is a good time to begin our day at the park. The party typically goes until midnight. We’ve had mixed results with our little guys making it through the whole party. Some years they’ve made it to midnight and other years we’ve found ourselves leaving around 10:00 or 11:00.

Nicole, I hope you and your seven-year-old enjoy the warm holiday spirit that you will find at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!

    Happy Planning!
