I'm planning a Mexican Riviera cruises on January 8, 2012. I will arrive a day before to play it safe.On departure day my flight is leaving at 12h35 pm. The planning center stipulate that I must planned a flight leaving after 13h.Am I really in trouble?

    Hi, Stephane!

My family and I just stepped off the Disney Wonder yesterday from a beautiful cruise to the Mexican Riviera. The warm weather almost made us forget it was fall back home.

The DisneyCruise.com Planning Center sets flight guidelines in place for good reason.  You know that because of variables in travel, a series of things can go wrong which could wreak havoc on a tight schedule. However, our flight home from Los Angeles departed at 12:30 p.m. yesterday, and we were at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) by 10 a.m. from the port. You're going to need to put a few plans in place in order to experience a smooth travel day for you, too:

    • Alert Guest Services that you will need to be of the first off the ship. Ask if you can check in with your airline before debarkation and print boarding passes.
    • The night before debarkation, make sure that your stateroom account is in order, and you don't have any "unfinished business" -- return Mickey Bands to the kids' clubs, turn in strollers or extension chords and present gratuities.
    • Be dressed, ready and packed in order to eat breakfast at the earliest possible time at Beach Blanket Buffet or Goofy's Galley. Meet everyone in your traveling party on Deck 3, Midship with completed US Customs forms, passports and Key to the World Cards (stateroom keys).
    • If at all possible, carry your luggage (instead of checking it the night before). Otherwise, make sure Guest Services provides you with "Ariel" luggage tags so that yours will be first off the ship.
    • Arrange for private transportation to the airport in advance of your cruise. We were off the ship and through Customs by 8:30 a.m. By the time we loaded our transportation and commuted through LA, it took us about 1.5 hours.
I hope this helps, and let me know if you think of other questions. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
