Hi! I’m planning on making a reservation for my niece to build a lightsaber at Galaxy’s Edge and then making a reservation for the family to eat at Sci- Fi Dine In Theater restaurant. How long would you advise to leave between reservation times? Thanks!

    Bright Suns, Meredith!

Welcome back to planDisney, friend! It sounds like you are planning a spectacular day at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This amazing park has so many adventures to choose from during your visit. Whether you're joining the Resistance or viewing scary aliens from your automo-booth, this day is sure to create a lifetime of memories for your entire travel party.

My recommendation is to book your experience at Savi's Workshop as soon as the 60-day booking window opens. If this is a must-do for your travel party it should be the very first reservation you make. This incredible experience is popular among Guests, especially younglings. Spots tend to fill quickly, so this should be at the top of your reservation priority list. This experience takes about 30 minutes, so I suggest 45 minutes or longer between this reservation and any other plans that follow. This will give you plenty of time to enjoy the experience and arrive at your next destination with no worries. You may find the pull of The Force is strong with a lightsaber in hand, and adding extra time to explore the Galaxy may be necessary, especially when unique photo opportunities are involved!

Once you have secured your spot to create a lightsaber and join the fight against the First Order, you can make a dining reservation for Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. While this spot is also a fan favorite, you may find it is easier to get a reservation at this location. Should you choose to dine before the big build, allow at least an hour and a half before checking in with a Gatherer at Savi's. This will help prevent the stress of rushing through your meal because another reservation is coming up soon. And if your dining takes less time than expected, you can use the extra moments to take in more of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The views never fail to amaze me, even after multiple visits.

While we are on the topic of reservations, I want to drop a quick reminder about Disney Park Pass reservations. All four theme parks require a reservation in addition to a valid theme park ticket. If you haven't made your Park Pass reservations, I strongly recommend doing so before your booking window for dining and Savi's opens. I would feel absolutely terrible if you reserved everything on your must-do list, only to find there was no availability for Disney's Hollywood Studios on your perfect day.

I hope that your upcoming adventure is memorable and magical!
    We'll see ya real soon!
