Hi! I’m planning to go to Disneyland this December over Christmas Eve. I’ve already booked a two-bedroom suite at the Grand Californian. I was wondering how early I can submit a room request as I like staying on higher floors. Thank you

Welcome to planDisney, Maryam. Thanks for coming by to ask us this question. Oh my gosh, a visit to the Disneyland Resort during the holidays is extra magical. After reading your question, I was immediately transported to Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa with the larger-than-life and beautifully adorned Christmas tree in the lobby.

Once you've booked your room, you can submit any room requests at any time. When I've done this, I usually tend to make the request around three months prior to my stay and then follow up one more time about a month prior to my arrival. I've found the easiest and most convenient way to do this is through the chat feature (at the Disneyland site or in the Disneyland app), however, you can also call to speak with a friendly Cast Member. Keep in mind that room requests are not guaranteed, but I know they all try to do their very best to sprinkle pixie dust. I've definitely gotten lucky in the past, but even when it doesn't happen, my stays have always been magical.

There's so much to say about Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, but I'll start with my favorites - the treats. If you haven't already, please add a Mickey gingerbread cookie to the top of your must-try list. These cookies are absolutely delectable - so soft and almost too cute to eat (almost). I also love getting a hand-pulled candy cane from the Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen on Main Street, U.S.A. If the schedule aligns with your visit dates and you happen to have time, this is a must-do at least once during a holiday visit.

To continue with the gingerbread theme, there will most likely also be a gingerbread display in the lobby of the Grand Californian - last year, several hidden Mickeys were incorporated for an extra fun touch. And, of course, we cannot forget that there is always a new gingerbread display featured in the ballroom scene of Haunted Mansion Holiday. It's made with real gingerbread and you'll be able to smell it as you pass through.

Maryam, I hope this has been helpful. Just thinking about all of this is getting me pumped for the holiday season. As you continue to plan your magical visit, please come back and ask us any other questions that come to mind. Happy planning!
