Im planning to go to disney in Oct '10...can you tell me if there are any big events happening such as a dance/cheerleading competition etc? im trying to avoid those. :) Thanx!

    Hi Christine,

October is a great month to visit Walt Disney World.  My family and I are planning a trip during that time as well.  I am not aware of any big events happening during that time frame, except of course for Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival.  It is fabulous, and it can draw a large local crowd on the weekends.  It should not be missed!

Also, on select nights in October, the Magic Kingdom will be holding Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  It is a special hard-ticketed event; basically that means you have to have a separate ticket for the party.  In my opinion, it is well worth the added expense.  It is my favorite special event all year.  The parade and the fireworks are outstanding.  Guests are allowed to wear costumes while trick-or-treating in the Magic Kingdom.

    Have a magical vacation!
