Hiya, Theresa! Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by with
such a fun question.
Before you know it, you and your gal pals will embark on your magical grown-up adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth. How exciting! You have definitely come to the right place for all your Disney margarita questions. I like to consider myself the unofficial Walt Disney World margarita expert, and I'm thrilled to help you and your friends activate your pixie-dusted vacation mode!
You are correct that the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT has some of the best margaritas around, at both
Choza de Margarita (the outdoor margarita stand) and
La Cava del Tequila (the fabulous bar inside the pavilion). My current favorite is a Top Shelf margarita on the rocks (sometimes with a spicy liqueur floater to add some kick). But while EPCOT has definitely perfected its margarita game, let's chat about where you can find some great ones in or near the other theme parks.
Some of my favorite margaritas can be found in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The Hightower Rocks at
Nomad Lounge is a watermelon margarita on the rocks, and it's smooth and the perfect combination of sweet and sour. Plus, sipping one on the serene outdoor patio while the character flotillas sail by is a whole vibe. Another delicious margarita at Animal Kingdom is the Green Shimmering Margarita from
Thirsty River Bar near Expedition Everest. I was so bummed to hear this margarita was taken off the menu once the 50th Anniversary ended, BUT my planDisney pal Tammy is there right now and informed me that it is
back! Cheers!
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, one of my favorite margaritas is The Outer Rim at
Oga's Cantina. With its pomegranate liqueur, exotic fruit puree and black salt, the sweet and salty combo is out of this world. Be sure to make reservations! Another one (or three) of my favorite margaritas at Hollywood Studios has always been the margarita flight at
The Hollywood Brown Derby and The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge, which included classic, blood orange and pomegranate. While I have enjoyed this flight for many years, looking at the menu, it seems as if the margarita and martini flights might have been replaced by a Grand Marnier Flight, a Tawny Port Flight and a Dessert Wine Flight (all now on my must-try list). Just check with a Cast Member to see if the margarita flight is still being offered. Fingers crossed!
When I have a craving for a margarita at Magic Kingdom Park, I head to
Enchanted Rose at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The Sunny Margarita (and everything on the menu!) is perfect, and the setting and service cannot be beaten. I also really enjoy the Spicy Poblano Margarita at
Outer Rim Lounge at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Enjoying a cocktail with views of the iconic Mickey sculpture on the shores of beautiful Bay Lake while the monorail soars by the Mary Blair mural will absolutely activate your Disney vacation mode!
Theresa, I hope this helps you and your friends have the most magical, memorable and delicious girls' trip! Stop by any time with any questions you have. You've got a friend in me!
Cheers to the magic,
Mandy
