I'm planning our first trip for our 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter for the last week in November. We will be there for 7 days. What are some of the MUST do things for children that age. I know I need to plan a character meal.

Hi Shannon - that is a great age for your first Disney vacation!  You'll have a wonderful time.

I agree that a character meal is a must-do.  For your son and daughter, I'd probably recommend Chef Mickey at the Contemporary (hosted by Mickey and friends) or the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom (hosted by Winnie the Pooh and friends).

You'll also want to visit Disney's Hollywood Studios, and check out the Disney Junior Live on Stage show.  My kids loved that show when they were younger.  You can also see many Disney Junior and Pixar characters at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Of course, you'll definitely want to go to the Magic Kingdom and check out the new Fantasyland attractions.  My kids still love Dumbo, and I'm sure yours will too.

There are also kid-friendly attractions at Epcot and Animal Kingdom, so if you have time, I'd visit those two also.

I hope that helps!  Have a great vacation!
