Hi! I'm planning our first trip to WDW this March. My children are ages 7 and 5. Any advice on which parks we must see and what could wait for future visits? I haven't been there since I was ten, so it has been a long time. Help!

    Gina:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel!

A trip to Disney World must include the Magic Kingdom whether your 3 or 103, so let's put that at the top of your list! For your second park, it comes down to what entertains your children the most: animals and the outdoors (aka. Animal Kingdom) or fast-action, Disney entertainment (aka. Disney Studios).

Our family would probably choose Disney Studios over Animal Kingdom simply because we love Toy Story Mania, the Muppets in 3D and so many of the character greetings with favorites like the Incredibles and the Power Rangers.  You also may want to think about the fact that your children may "outgrow" some of these characters vs. the traditional ones at Animal Kingdom. So, I'd recommend Disney Studios as a solid second choice.

Of all the parks to save for next time, simply because of your children's ages, I'd put Epcot in that category.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
