I'm going to be planning my first trip to WDW at christmas and I have a 5yrs son old and 9yr old daughter what is the best advice to give on about everything where to stay, what to visit not to bother with and what to do about the dinner packages etc.

Visiting WDW over the holidays is one of my favorite times to visit, even with the crowds (the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve is often the most crowded). The resorts and parks are dressed in their holiday best and truly shine!

If you budget allows for it, the deluxe resorts are amazing this time of year.  My favorite is the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge with their expansive lobbies that are filled with huge Christmas trees. The Grand Floridian even has a life-size gingerbread house. Similarly, the Animal Kingdom Lodge is also breath-taking.  If you realize you'd need something different, I'd be help by sharing more information on the moderate and value resorts.  Just click here to send another question my way.

To help with what to see/do, www.touringplans.com is a helpful website from the folks over at the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and will help you make the most of your days.  It does have a small fee, but I think worth it.

Since the window for making dining reservations is open, I'd start to explore the various restaurants by clicking here and by visiting www.disneyfoodblog.com. A character meal may be a fun investment, too.  Booking the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package and Fantasmics Dinner Package are worthwhile (I'm limited on space, so I can't go into much detail - sorry).

We've taken many holiday trips to WDW and I'm glad to help with more questions. Please don't hesitate to ask.
