I'm planning my first trip to DW in March 2013 for 7days with my 5yr old son. It's becoming very overwhelming. What parks, attractions, dining, places to stay is the best. This is our first family trip and I want it to be extra special. Fireworks too!

Planning a first trip to WDW is an incredible, yet overwhelming experience.

One of the first choices you need to make is the resort, & WDW has 3 levels to suit guests' budgets and tastes. If it works to stay at a deluxe resort, I'm partial to the Magic Kingdom resorts with their close proximity to the park. My sons' favorite of those resorts is the Polynesian, but the Contemporary with the monorail going right through the middle of the it is quite striking as well.Take a look at the costs & if you'd like other ideas, let me know. I'm happy to elaborate on each of the resorts (limited on space here).

To help with the parks & attractions, www.touringplans.com is an amazing website that does all the work for you with over 100 researched itineraries. It provides you with the must-sees & the order to visit them. It really makes visiting WDW a "piece of cake!" While there is a small cost, it is one investment I think that pays for itself.

And now dining, several other Disney Moms have shared many of their favorites for boys here, here, & here.  Again, these are just ideas to get you started; and as you begin to fine tune your decisions, please let us know how we can help further.  Meanwhile, I'd begin visiting the Disney Parks Blog on a regular basis & also consider www.disneyfoodblog & www.allearsnet.com for helpful information.
