Hello moms, im planning my very first trip to disneyworld. I have 2 boys ages 2 and 7. Im looking for some advice on how to keep the boys as well as the husband happy and entertained throughout our stay.

    Hi Amanda,

How exciting to be planning your first vacation to Walt Disney World! Let me offer a few suggestions for your trip.

Make Disney FastPass+ selections for your family before you head to Walt Disney World. This will allow you to experience select attractions with little wait. The magic of being able to quickly get on attractions that your boys are excited for is wonderful! You will need to set up a My Disney Experience account in order to make Disney FastPass+ selections. I also suggest that you view the Walt Disney World planning video. Your older son can view this with you and perhaps he could select one of the attractions for a Disney FastPass+ each day.

I find that sometimes is it fun for kids to have a little something extra to do, a scavenger hunt of sorts, while in Walt Disney World. My daughter collects pressed pennies. There are pressed penny machines throughout the theme parks and at some resorts. You can give your son a roll of quarters and have him take his shiniest pennies and each time he finds a machine, he can make a pressed penny. Many merchandise locations at Walt Disney World sell folders in which to keep pressed pennies.

For your little one, I am sure that he will be excited by Walt Disney World. When my daughter was that age, we did find it important to bring a stash of her favorite snacks and maybe even a couple of small toys for her in our backpacks. This way, if she got upset or fussy, we could give her one of these and it was helpful in calming her down. We also took advantage of interactive play areas, such as The Boneyard in Disney's Animal Kingdom, so that she had some chances to run around.

I would love to help you plan more Amanda; however, I am limited in the space that I have to answer. Please do write back if you have any further questions.
