Hi, I'm planning my very first trip to Disneyland and I'm not sure where should I start.

    Greetings, Adriana!

I'm excited for you to experience the magic of the Disneyland Resort. Thank you for the opportunity to help guide you as you plan this special experience.

The best place to start in the planning for a Disneyland Resort vacation is with your preferred authorized travel agent. A travel agent will have the resources and know-how to navigate the ins and outs of planning a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. This is especially useful for international Guests. Some topics that you will want to discuss with your travel agent include theme park tickets, theme park reservations, hotel accommodations, and dining experiences.

Theme Park Tickets and Theme Park Reservations. There are two main choices to make for theme park tickets. First, choose how many days you'd like to visit the theme parks. Second, choose whether you want to focus on only one park per day or if you want the flexibility of a Park Hopper ticket. In either case, you will need to choose which park to begin each day when you make theme park reservations. If you have Park Hopper tickets, you'll be able to go back and forth between the two parks starting at 1:00 PM, subject to capacity and park hours. I recommend at least three-day Park Hopper tickets. That allows for one day in Disneyland Park, one day in Disney California Adventure Park, and one day to hop between the two parks to revisit favorite attractions and experience any shows or other activities missed.

Hotels. Your travel agent will be able to help you select hotel accommodations that best fit your needs. That could be either a Disneyland Resort Hotel or a Good Neighbor Hotel. My favorite hotel is the Disneyland Hotel. I love the history and charm of this classic hotel. Or you may prefer the grandeur and convenience of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. It's always so magical to stroll through the enormous grand lobby of this hotel that is partially located inside Disney California Adventure Park!

Dining. Your travel agent will be able to advise you on reservations for table service restaurants. But don't forget the amazing quick-service dining restaurants. Some of my favorites are Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe and Rancho Cucamonga in Disneyland Park and Smokejumpers Grill and Pym Test Kitchen in Disney California Adventure Park. Quick-service restaurants do not require dining reservations.

Some additional considerations include planning for health and safety measures and dreaming about the many attractions you'll be able to experience. Regarding health and safety, recent updates to the policies at the Disneyland Resort include removing the face covering requirement for fully vaccinated Guests in most indoor spaces. What attractions are you looking forward to? I imagine you're excited to experience the new Avengers Campus. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet the amazing Spider-Man. Be sure to ask a Cast Member when you can watch his acrobatic stunts!

Thank you for your question here at planDisney, Adriana. I hope you'll come by again with any follow-up questions you may have. If you’d like, questions may also be submitted in Spanish!

    See ya real soon!
