I'm planning our first trip to Disney as a family of 4 & don't know where to stay. Our children are 5 & 3. We're going for Thanksgiving. Is it worth the money to stay at a deluxe resorts or just do value resorts to save some extra money for souveni

    Hi Michelle!

Which resort to choose is always the hardest part!  While there are advantages to staying in a deluxe resort, you can save a lot of money staying in a value resort to use on other things such as dining or souvenirs for you and the kids.

The deluxe resorts have impeccable service, themes and decor.  The locations are fantastic, being close to the theme parks and the general ambiance is just fancy!

The value resorts are also nice, but you do lose the classy feeling.  My favorite is the All Star Movies.  My son (3) loves seeing all of his favorite Disney characters larger than life in the courtyards.

If you stay in a deluxe resort for your first time, it will be hard in the future to stay anywhere but deluxe.  My opinion is to stay at either a value or moderate resort and use the extra money on character dining or special treats for your children such as Pirates League or Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  You can visit the other resorts while on your vacation and decide which one to treat yourself to for your second visit!

    Have a magical day!
