I'm planning my first time to Disney World with 3 adults and a 13 year old what would you suggest is a must do?

    Hi Melinda,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! First trips to the Walt Disney World Resort require an official happy dance!

So much to plan, so much to do and so little time! I will start with my general suggestions. First, book a Magic Your Way Vacation Package at a Walt Disney World resort hotel. The resort guest benefits are worth it. Check the Special Offers to see what discounts might apply to the dates of your visit. Plan to visit all four theme parks. For my family, base tickets are enough but if your family wants to tackle multiple parks per day, you will need park hopper tickets. Here are my ride/attraction suggestions for each park:

    • Magic Kingdom - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and Haunted Mansion.
    • Disney's Animal Kingdom - Avatar Flight of Passage, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, The Festival of the Lion King show and Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios - Toy Story Land (opening June 30th), The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and Star Tours - The Adventures Continue
    • Epcot - Soarin' Around the World, Test Track, Mission: SPACE

Be sure to make dining reservations and Fast Pass+ selections. As long as you stay at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, you can make Fast Pass+ selections 60 days in advance.

Melinda, also be sure to see the Happily Ever After fireworks at Magic Kingdom. The show is spectacular!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
