Welcome back to planDisney Crystal, and thank you for stopping by with your question! I’m so excited to hear that you’re planning your very first solo trip to
Walt Disney World Resort, it sounds like a truly magical adventure awaits you! With a full week to explore and a stay at the serene Disney’s Old Key West Resort, you’re all set for a vacation that’s equal parts relaxing and unforgettable. I’d love to share a few tips to help you make the most of this special time just for you.
A solo visit to Walt Disney World gives you the freedom to enjoy everything at your own pace, and with a full week, you’ll have plenty of time to really soak in the experience.
Old Key West is a great resort for that kind of relaxed, personal getaway. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful, and the boat ride to Disney Springs is such a nice touch, it’s a perfect way to end an evening after dinner or some shopping.
Since it’s just you, you can take advantage of shorter waits with
single rider lines on attractions like Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom or Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT. You also don’t have to worry about coordinating plans, so you can hop around the parks based on what you’re in the mood for that day. Want to rope drop Magic Kingdom and stay until the fireworks? Go for it. Or maybe sleep in, then head to EPCOT in the afternoon for a stroll around World Showcase with a snack in one hand and a drink in the other.
Dining can be a real treat too. Try grabbing a lounge seat at places like Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom or the Rose & Crown Pub in EPCOT, both have great menus and a relaxed vibe, and solo guests often get seated pretty quickly. If you're interested in a special dining experience, consider a reservation at California Grill during the fireworks, or even a quiet breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace.
Since you’ll have the time, this is also a great chance to explore things beyond the rides. Walk the animal trails at Animal Kingdom, watch the Voices of Liberty at EPCOT, or take a drawing class at the Animation Experience. Even just relaxing at your resort with a book by the pool or taking the boat to Disney Springs for a solo evening out can feel really special.
And don’t forget about
PhotoPass! Just let the photographers know you’re solo, and they’ll help you get some really great shots! Whether you’re watching the sunset over the lagoon at Old Key West or catching the fireworks over Cinderella Castle, this trip is all about you. Make the most of it, and let the magic unfold exactly how you want it to.
I hope these tips help you feel even more excited and confident as you head into your solo adventure at Walt Disney World Resort. Thank you again for visiting us here at planDisney, it’s been a pleasure helping you plan a trip that’s all your own. Wishing you a week filled with magical moments, unforgettable memories, and plenty of pixie dust!
