I’m planning fast passes. If I plan on using rider swap, do I need one person to have a fast pass or do both need one?

Hi Rachel! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Your trip is just days away and I am sure you are filled with anticipation! Those last few days of the countdown are always so exciting.

For Disney's Rider Switch Service, you take your whole party to the entrance of the attraction and let the Cast Member know that you would like to use Rider Switch and show that you have a member of your party that isn't able to ride the attraction. Then, the adult in your party that wishes to ride first can either enter the Stand By line, or if that person has a FastPass+ for that attraction, enter the FastPass+ line. The first adult will obtain the Rider Switch pass from a Cast Member in the line. Once the first person has experienced the attraction, the next adult will then take the Rider Switch pass to the entrance of the attraction and that will grant access to the FastPass+ line, essentially saving the second adult time by avoiding a wait in the Stand By line again.

If you are using the Rider Switch Service, you can do so without any FastPass+, or with the first adult having a FastPass+. A FastPass+ is not necessary for the second person since the paper Rider Switch pass acts as a FastPass+ for that specific attraction.

I hope this helps you prepare for your visit, Rachel! Please visit us again with any other questions you may have!
