I'm planning my family's first vacation to Disney World for mid July.We have two boys, 3 and 5 years old.I'm very torn on where to stay because I want a hotel with a fun pool area for my kids. Any recommendations?I want to keep in mind ease of travel too.

    Hello, April,

The minute I read that you are looking for a fun pool area, I immediately thought of Disney's Beach Club Resort and its neighbor the Disney's Yacht Club Resort. These two resorts share a pool area called Stormalong Bay that is essentially a small version of a water park.  The pool area is 3 acres in size and has a lazy river, a large sand bar play area, a kiddie pool area complete with its own slide, and even a sand bottom in the pool.

These resorts are a short walk from the back entrance of Epcot and within walking distance to Disney's Hollywood Studios, albeit this is a longer walk.  There are also boats that bring guests to both parks and the other nearby resorts. You'll find a nice selection of restaurants at these resorts as well as those at Disney's Boardwalk Resort.  One of my sons' favorite restaurants at the Disney's Beach Club Resort is the "old-fashioned"  Beaches and Cream Soda Shop.  At this restaurant, you can indulge in the Kitchen Sink dessert, which is made up of everything and then some that could be put in an ice cream sundae for 4 guests.

If you find this resort isn't what you had in mind, please don't hesitate to let us know. There are many resort options available at Walt Disney World, and we are happy to help you out to find the best fit for your family.
