I'm planning our family's first Disney trip. We'd like to go in April or early May 2013 for our daughter's 3rd birthday. When will they open up reservations for 2013, and what would be the best week to go for less crowds and best pricing in that timeframe?

    Hi Justin,

Early May 2013 would be a fabulous time to visit Walt Disney World.  Crowds are typically lighter in May because it is well after spring break for many schools across the country. That means pricing should be good too.  My sister's family has visited in early May on more than one occasion and they came back reporting that there were little or no lines at even the most popular attractions.

Currently, reservations can be made for Walt Disney World vacations through December 2012.  That means it won't be long until spring 2013 dates will be released.  I suggest you check the online reservations page beginning next month.  It would also be worthwhile to call a Disney-savvy travel agent to let them know of your plans.  (Many local AAA offices have a Disney specialist on staff). Then he or she can call you the instant that spring 2013 reservations become available.

Good luck planning your daughter's magical birthday trip.  Let us know if you need help with anything else.  We'd be delighted to assist you!
