I'm planning my family's (2 adults and 4 kids ages 1,3,5 & 7) 2nd trip to WDW this Nov. Trying to decide between AOA and Villas @ WL. Stayed at WL during 1st stay. Love the themed rooms at AOA, but am worried about bus travel w/4 young kids. Thoughts

    Hi Anita,

I am so glad you're planning a return trip to Walt Disney World. It's so much fun to come back when you have already been once and know the parks!

While Disney's Wilderness Lodge is gorgeous, I would encourage you to try Disney's Art of Animation Resort. My family loves trying different resorts each time we go, which is definitely part of the fun for us. I was able to tour Disney's Art of Animation Resort recently, and it is absolutely beautiful.  Considering the ages of your children, I bet they will love the colorful, larger-than-life icons that create the amazing themes at the resort. The pools at Disney's Art of Animation Resort - especially The Big Blue Pool themed after Finding Nemo - are absolutely not to be missed!

As for bus travel, our family tends to find the Disney bus system to be fine from any resort. Our philosophy tends to be that if you're going to ride a bus, it's not a big deal if it is 15 minutes instead of 10 minutes on the bus to get to a theme park. Someone else is driving, so you can just enjoy the ride! I know that young ones can get restless on a bus, so I suggest that you bring along a favorite little toy or book to keep them happy on the bus, just like you might in a line for an attraction. Also, comparing the two resorts that you are considering, Disney's Wilderness Lodge is really only closer to Magic Kingdom Park. Disney's Art of Animation is probably quicker by bus to Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

No matter which resort you choose, have a great vacation, Anita. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
