I’m planning a family vacation but I’m unsure of what reservations to make

    Hey there, Ramesha!

Thanks for bringing your question to us here at planDisney! If you're planning your vacation to Walt Disney World Resort and are looking for where to begin, I'll say you've come to the right place. Each of us here at the planDisney Panel always appreciates the chance to share our own Disney vacation experiences, tips, and insights with Guests like you who are making plans.

You're asking a great question, and you might be wondering to yourself "which reservations do I need to make?" Let me share some general info that I hope can be helpful.

In general, you'll want to make reservations for your hotel accommodations, purchase your theme park tickets (after checking for reservation availability), make your reservations to visit the theme parks, and make reservations for any table service restaurants you'd like to enjoy.

If you're just beginning your planning, I recommend the best place to begin is with the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar. This will help you see if the theme parks you want to visit have availability on the days you plan to visit. Visiting a Walt Disney World Resort theme park requires both a theme park admission ticket and a theme park reservation for that park for that day you visit. Once you know that there's availability on your desired dates, I recommend booking a reservation for a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and adding on theme park admission tickets. After you've completed booking your Resort hotel reservation and purchasing your theme park tickets, you'll want to make your reservations to visit the theme parks using the Disney Park Pass system. Next, you'll want to make any dining reservations if you'd like to enjoy some of the really wonderful Walt Disney World Resort table service restaurants.

If you'd like additional help directly with booking your vacation package, you can reach out to the Walt Disney Travel Company at (407) 939-7675.

You can view all your plans and reservations in the "My Plans" area of your My Disney Experience account, using either the online tool or the My Disney Experience mobile app

Ramesha, I hope this quick overview helps you learn more about which reservations you'll want to make for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. If you'd like additional insights or info to help you with your planning, please ask away here at planDisney.

Here's wishing you a wonderful and fun vacation to enjoy all the magic of Walt Disney World Resort!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
