Oh, David! Your plan to stay at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge during your trip to Walt Disney World Resort next June is a brilliant one. It is my favorite hotel in the whole world. It is themed beautifully around America's Pacific Northwest and there are engaging details throughout the resort. No matter how warm it is outside during the summer, it is cool and comfortable at the Lodge. As you wander into the lobby the first time, I guarantee your heart will skip a beat. It is breathtaking!
When I travel with my parents to Walt Disney World Resort, they utilize scooters to get around property so I understand your concern. The Disney buses that serve Disney's Wilderness Lodge are able to transport two scooters at a time. I have found bus service to this resort to be fairly efficient and guests can now simply look up at monitors at the bus stop to see when the next bus headed to their desired destination will arrive. Knowing when that bus is going to reach you definitely makes the wait easier. The only issue that may slow you down is if there are two guests with scooters already waiting at the bus stop when you arrive. In that case, you would need to wait for a subsequent bus to take you to the theme parks.
Taking a boat from the back of Disney's Wilderness Lodge is quite enjoyable. Traveling across Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon is so relaxing! The large water cruisers that take guests to Magic Kingdom Park from the Lodge can accommodate scooters. The smaller water taxis that go to Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort cannot accommodate scooters. If you are headed to one of those resorts, simply take the large water cruiser to Magic Kingdom Park and then transfer to the monorail (if you are headed to Disney's Contemporary Resort) or another water cruiser en route to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
Wishing you many magical memories,
Jill
