I’m planning a family trip to Disneyland and am unsure how to manage Lightning Lane for everyone, since there is no Friends and Family like at Disney World.

    Hi Amy,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney. I can’t wait for your family to enjoy the Happiest Place on Earth! I am happy to help you with navigating Lightning Lane. You will be saying “kachow” in no time!

Log into the Disneyland website, then select “My Disneyland” and you should see the option to “Link Tickets and Passes.” There, you can link the park ticket of the people in your party. You will just need their Ticket ID Number. You can also link  the tickets on the Disneyland app. When you launch the app, click the three bars to the bottom right. This will take you to another landing page where you can click “My Tickets & Passes.” You can then click the “+” sign on the top. This will prompt you to enter in the Ticket ID Number as well.

As you mentioned, linking your family’s tickets to one app is particularly helpful when managing Lightning Lane reservations. When  making Lightning Lane reservations on your phone, you can select all the people in your party who will be joining. Don’t forget that you can make a new reservation every two hours or when you use your existing reservation, whichever comes first.

Lightning Lane Tip: Don’t forget that your Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows you unlimited downloads of your Disney PhotoPass photos. Be sure to ask your photographer if they have any magic shots available!

Amy, I hope this was helpful information. When it comes to making those Lightning Lane reservations, channel our Piston Cup Champ, Lightning McQueen. Be  "faster than fast, quicker than quick.” I am confident that you and your family will have an amazing vacation. There are so many amazing things coming to the Disneyland Resort in 2025! If you have any other questions or need help planning, please feel free to write back to me or my fellow panelist, and we would be happy to share our thoughts.

    Wishing you a magical trip!
