I'm planning a family trip for 10 adults + 5 kids. Are there areas at the resorts where we can just hang out together and maybe play a board game on our resort days? We'd like to stay at an Epcot area resort or the Swan. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Michelle!

Welcome to planDisney!  I believe that the real magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is the memories made and shared with family.  I’m delighted you’re planning a trip that will bring everyone together for what I'm sure will be a wonderful vacation!

Michelle, there are some fantastic choices in the Disney Resorts Collection around the EPCOT area.  I’d suggest checking out Disney’s Beach Club Resort as you’ll find a wide range of room accommodations and some pretty amazing amenities to suit your entire family.  The pool complex, Stormalong Bay, is perhaps the best in Walt Disney World Resort with a sand-bottom pool, lazy river, water slides, and much more!  You’ll also find common areas inside the resort to meet for a cup of coffee and to hang out.  My panelist friends Matt and Amy recently shared a resort tour of this property which may help get a better sense of all you can find here!

When staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort or another hotel along the Disney BoardWalk, you’ll find so much to do on your resort days.  Over at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, you can rent bikes to ride along the BoardWalk.  If you’re interested, there are character breakfasts at Cape May Cafe inside Disney’s Beach Club Resort or you can take a ride on the Disney Skyliner to Disney’s Riviera Resort for breakfast with Mickey and friends at Topolino’s Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera.  On your resort days, you may also want to check out Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf - just a short walk from Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

Michelle, as you continue planning your visit, you may also find these FAQs on linking your travel party to your Family and Friends List in your My Disney Experience account helpful.  Ensuring everyone is connected before your arrival will streamline making and sharing plans.  You can also purchase just one Memory Maker and share Disney PhotoPass photos with up to 25 people on your Family and Friends List!

I hope this information helps you plan a most magical vacation for your family!  Remember, you’re always welcome to be our guest here at planDisney.  Please stop by to see us again if you have any other questions!

    Happy Planning!
