Hi Danielle,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I am so excited to hear you are planning your family’s first Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
When making your reservation for Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, be sure to reserve a
Preferred Room. Preferred rooms are in the Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, and Fantasia sections; these rooms are closer to the main building, where you will find dining, shopping, and bus pick-up. When you make your reservation, ask the Cast Member to note that you would very much like to stay in the Toy Story Section. These requests cannot be guaranteed, but the scheduling Cast Members do try their best to sprinkle pixie dust wherever they can. I would note, though, that because this summer marks the grand opening of
Toy Story Land, I would bet there will be a higher-than-usual demand for those rooms. Make a wish, and do as dreamers do, but remember that even if you don’t end up in the Toy Story section, you can still visit those big icons, take amazing pictures, and see them every day as you move around the resort.
Since you’re a Toy Story fan, I know you are going to love Toy Story Land, which opens on June 30. Ride Slinky Dog Dash, have an “oooOOOOOoooooOOO” moment on Alien Swirling Saucers, and try some amazing snacks at Woody’s Lunch Box – you’ll get to “play big” as you shrink to the size of a toy and have giant-sized fun in Andy’s backyard.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
