Hi Jessica! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with this great question!
When it comes to celebrating a special holiday, there is no place better to do so than at the
Walt Disney World Resort! While Easter may not be as big of a celebration as Christmas or Halloween, there should still be some special things to look out for during your stay. Unfortunately, no information has been released just yet for this year, but let's discuss what took place last year around this holiday to give you an idea of what you might expect.
At the Magic Kingdom, Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny held a meet and greet in the Liberty Square Gazebo. This experience began about a week before the big day, so the window to take advantage of it was small. With you arriving a couple of days before Easter, there is a good chance you can catch this if they repeat what they did last year.
For about a month leading up to Easter, a few
Chocolate Easter Egg displays popped up at various Disney Resorts Hotels. These elaborate, edible creations have been modeled after Disney characters, Disney Park icons, and even Disney snacks. There was truly no limit to what some of these amazing artists were able to conjure up. These displays were found at Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and a few others.
Over at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, the Grand Cottage was set up in the main lobby and offered a variety of
holiday-focused treats. Much like the Gingerbread House over the winter holiday, the Grand Floridian features a lifelike cottage that serves delicious and festive offerings. While a return of this experience has not been announced, I highly expect this to be back for Easter this year.
Jessica, your best bet will be to follow along with the
Disney Parks Blog for any news and announcements. They will typically release information regarding new happenings at Walt Disney World as these events take form.
I hope you have a magical time during your stay!
Greg
