Greetings, Alysia, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so glad you’re hEAR!
If you are arriving between now and March 31, please click here for more information.Believe it or not, some of my best Disney days with my little Mouseketeers have been spent in the rain! The smaller crowds and shorter wait times help you maximize your time in the parks. So, I still recommend visiting the
Disneyland Resort in the rain, so long as you prepare ahead of time, which is exactly what you’re doing! The theme parks do sell single-stroller rain covers, but not double-stroller rain covers, unfortunately. So, it would be best to pick one up on your way to the parks if you’re able to. Or, if you’re unable to find one before your visit, I have plenty of tips to help you brave the wet weather without a stroller cover.
For starters, I recommend purchasing a poncho for each member of your family, so you don’t have to carry umbrellas around. On a rainy day, you can find adult and child-sized ponchos at most shops on Main Street, U.S.A. (in
Disneyland Park) and on Buena Vista Street (in
Disney California Adventure Park). Next, be sure your family is dressed for the rain, complete with rain boots, if you have them. You may also want to pack a change of clothes, including socks, and store them in a
rental locker.
There are plenty of indoor spots to head to when your crew needs a break from the rain. Inside Disney California Adventure Park, my family loves heading to the Disney Animation Building to escape the rain. We love Turtle Talk with Crush and Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome! Inside Disneyland Park, we head to The Disney Gallery or Star Wars Launch Bay. Many Characters will also make their way to The Disneyland Story Presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln for drier meet-and-greets.
The
Baby Care Centers are also a great spot to dry off or change clothes if your little ones get too wet. These Centers also sell baby necessities, in case you forgot to pack anything.
If you’re unsure about possible attraction or entertainment closures or schedule changes, I recommend visiting City Hall in Disneyland Park, or Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park. You can also download the
Disneyland app, which is my favorite handy helper in the parks.
I hope this information helps, Alysia! Please stop by with any additional questions… I’m all EARs!
