I'm planning a Disney vacation for march with my son who is 8 and husband. It would be our second time at Disney. Not sure where we want to stay, we stayed at Animal Kingdom last time which it was great, but we want something a little different. Help!

    Hi Alexandra,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel!

It’s exciting to hear you’re planning a vacation to Walt Disney World. We, too, loved staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas so I can understand why you had a great time.

When our son was around your son’s age, we loved staying at resorts that offered lots of fun for him at his age. We enjoyed our whimsical retro stay at Disney's Pop Century Resort. I have a photo of my son and me atop the big bowling pin that I cherish. While we haven’t stayed at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, I would breakout my Simba roar just to dine at Landscape of Flavors and hakuna matata my way around a Lion King Suite. There are also themed suites for The Little Mermaid, Cars, and Finding Nemo. When we stayed at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, we couldn’t get enough of Stormalong Bay. As a Disney Vacation Club owner at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, my son was thrilled to walk right over to Magic Kingdom Park (knowing he’d get the Dad Piggyback Transportation Service back to our room after a long, fun day).

Alexandra, I hope this helps with just a few ideas for your upcoming trip accommodations.

    Enjoy the magic!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
