I'm planning a Disney trip for my birthday in February, and had two questions: First, how can I let the resort know in the booking about it being a birthday trip? And second, would parking at the hotel a few hours before check-in be allowed?

Hiya, Krysten! Welcome back to planDisney, and thanks for stopping by with another great planning question.

Is there any better place to celebrate a birthday than The Most Magical Place on Earth? I certainly can't think of one, and I couldn't be more excited for you and your upcoming magical adventure! With the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts (my favorite EPCOT fest) in full swing during your visit, your birthday celebration couldn't be at a better time. Now, let's tie up your loose planning ends so you can sit back, relax and start your countdown to the fun!

To let your Disney Resort hotel know that you will be celebrating your birthday during your visit, just call a helpful Cast Member with Disney Resort Hotel Reservations. Let them know that you would like to add a celebration to your reservation, and they will be more than happy to help. When you arrive at your Resort hotel, be sure to ask the front desk for a complimentary birthday button so that everyone will know you are celebrating your big day!

Speaking of your arrival, I think you will be happy to know that you can absolutely arrive at your Disney Resort hotel a few hours before check-in time and park in the parking lot. In fact, my family and I do this every time we visit! Just pull up to the Security Hut, let the Security Cast Member know that you are checking in, provide the last name on your reservation, and present a photo ID. You will be welcomed home with open arms, even if you are early. Then, you can leave your luggage with Bell Services while you dine, shop or play in the theme parks until your room is ready! Once your room is ready, just call Bell Services from your room's phone to have your bags delivered. It's time to celebrate!

Krysten, did you know that you can easily add an adorable Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to any meal at participating restaurants?! When you make your dining reservation, you will be prompted to add the cake of your choice, and the cake will be presented at the end of your dining experience. I ordered a dark chocolate birthday cake for my daughter's birthday, and it was absolutely delicious and made her birthday meal even more magical and memorable.

I hope this helps, Krysten, and I'm wishing you the happiest and most magical birthday yet. Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have along the way.

Wishing you the BEST. DAY. EVER!
