I'm planning a Dec '19 DW trip with my family of 5. We've are looking at staying on property, but the cost is quite high for our budget. Is there a place close to parks that is more reasonable? Less then $350-$400 a night for family of 5?

Early Holiday Greetings to you Lisa!

You are planning a trip during my most favorite time of year at Walt Disney World! We have a family tradition of staying on property every other year during the season - the atmosphere and decorations are magical. While there is an abundance of options off-site, there are plenty of Walt Disney World Resort hotels that are well within your budget during that time.

The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort sleep up to six and fall within your price range. Be sure to check out the Campground where people revel in decorating their sites for the holidays! At Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside a room that sleeps five adults comes in well under your stated price per night. You will also be a quick stroll away from my favorite Disney dessert - the Mickey-shaped Beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney’s Port Orleans - French Quarter.

Look into Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. It has one of the best lobbies on property! Also, their themed Family Suites sleep up to six and all fall within your budget. As a guest staying at select Disney properties, you will enjoy the benefits of Extra Magic Hours and earlier access to FastPass+ - I consider those priceless!

May your vacation days be Merry and Bright!
