Im planning a 7 day trip to WDW. I have a 15 yo son/8 yr old daughter. What is the best time of year to go? I'm trying to avoid overcrowds and long long lines. This is our 1st time so also wanna know best value resort? I'm leaning toward sports resort.

    Hi Felicia!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.  Basically, the best time to go in terms of crowds is when older children are generally in school.  Of course a lot of us can't do that!  I suggest visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com.  That's the website for the research team behind the tour book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World".  They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar, which is exactly the information you are looking for.  They use a lot of math and years of collected data to make predictions about the crowd levels in the various parks throughout the year.

With regards to the best Disney Value Resort, I recommend Pop Century.  Pop Century has only one bus stop and it doesn't share buses with any other resorts; that comes in handy early in the morning and late in the evenings when the parks are closing.  It also has a great food court.  However, the new Disney's Art of Animation Resort is opening in May 2012 and the concept art for that resort looks fabulous.  That might become my new favorite Disney Value Resort.

I hope this helps!  Write back with more questions!
