Hiya Kristine - welcome to
planDisney!
I'm so glad you stopped by with your very first question for our team of panelists. We love helping Guests just like you plan your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacations! I'm so excited to hEAR about your upcoming trip this December - there's so much to experience as part of the
Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration!
Walt Disney World Resort is a magical place where
all Guests can share amazing experiences.
Disability Access Service (DAS) is designed specifically to assist Guests who may have difficulty waiting in the standard attraction standby queues. Once a Guest is registered, the service allows that Guest and up to five other Guests in their party to pick an attraction you'd like to experience - you can then return at the stated return time and enter through the Lightning Lane queue for a reduced wait. This allows those Guests who have difficulty using the standard standby queues to spend their wait somewhere more comfortable. Of course, you can always communicate any other needs directly to an attraction Cast Member to see what other accommodations are available.
Currently, only U.S.-based Guests are able to pre-register DAS online, but this could change by the time your trip rolls around at the end of the year. Currently, U.S.-based Guests can pre-register at least two but no more than 30 days before their visit. Any eligible Guest can register at a
Theme Park's Guest Relations location in person on the day they visit a park.
When you register, you'll be asked who you would like to include in your party. The great news is that you can actually
include everyone in your party, however, the limitation is that only five other Guests can be included in each DAS selection you make throughout the day. This simply means that the same five Guests don't always need to join the Guest who is registered with DAS - you can rotate to include a different group of Guests for each attraction! If you have any trouble, you can always visit a Guest Experience Team Cast Member - they're located throughout each park.
I hope this information is helpful -
please let me know if we can answer any other questions as you continue planning!
