I’m planning to take a cruise on the Disney Destiny out of Ft Lauderdale and stay at one of the recommended hotels. Do I need to book the hotel through Disney to book transport? Are there perks to choosing Disney transportation (luggage, early boarding)?

    Hello, Patricia!

I'm glad you sent your question to planDisney! You are going to love sailing out of Fort Lauderdale! My planDisney class sailed from there together, and it was truly the most magical trip.

If you book your hotel stay through Disney Cruise Line, you can usually add ground transportation from the hotel to the port. I always choose their transfer service because it takes the stress out of getting to the port on time. In my experience, Guests using Disney Cruise Line transportation can often enter the port earlier, which means you can board sooner, grab an ice cream, and start your vacation right away. I like the sound of that!

Right now, three hotels are available to book for Disney Cruises departing from Fort Lauderdale. The Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa is a gorgeous beachfront property with a lagoon-style pool and several delicious dining options. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina offers lovely walking trails and beautiful water views. I’ve also stayed at the Omni Fort Lauderdale, an elegant hotel with great access to nearby restaurants and shops. It really comes down to the vibe you’re looking for, but you can’t go wrong with any of them! Just give Disney Cruise Line a call to book your hotel and ground transportation to make your pre-cruise planning as smooth as possible.

Patricia, I hope your Disney Cruise is filled with unforgettable moments!  If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out to planDisney anytime.

    Happy sailing!
