Hi Renee,
What a magical vacation you have planned! Visiting
Walt Disney World during the winter holidays adds to the magic that is always at this destination. You have chosen a lovely home base for your vacation,
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, which will be decked out beautifully for the winter holidays.
There is so much to do during the winter holidays at Walt Disney World! I suggest that you start by looking at the first link I posted about winter holidays at Walt Disney World and choosing what is most appealing to you and your family. Let me share some of my favorites at Walt Disney World during the winter holidays.
First, I recommend a visit to Magic Kingdom. Main Street, U.S.A. is positively beautiful at this time of year. Especially seeing the park at night, alive with beautiful castle lights, is not to be missed. I also suggest that you make a visit to Epcot. There, you can learn about holiday traditions from around the world by walking the World Showcase. Be sure to stay long enough to see the
Candlelight Processional, at which you will see a celebrity-narrated retelling of the Christmas story with a massive choir adding in song.
If you have some time, do tour other Walt Disney World resort hotels. One of my favorite activities at the holidays is to take the monorail to each resort at which it stops. These are decorated gorgeously, and seeing (and smelling!) the massive gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is amazing! Add a lunch reservation at one of the resort hotels and you have a fun afternoon ahead of you.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Renee! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
