Hi Kathleen,
Welcome to planDisney!
Your trip is quickly approaching! It sounds like you are already familiar with the
Comprehensive Services for Guests with Disabilities which includes the
Disability Access Service. There have been some updates to DAS, so review the new guidance. We at planDisney are unable to verify eligibility but you can do the
pre-arrival video chat to speak with a cast member to determine eligibility. Since it looks like you are arriving prior to May 20, you could also register at Guest Relations in the parks.
If your husband does qualify for DAS, remember that you will need the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. It sounds like you are familiar with the process, but as a reminder, while in the parks, you should see the DAS link in the mobile app. Use that link to search for attractions with available return times. My family usually makes our first DAS selection for an attraction with the longest wait time when we first enter the park. Later in the day, we make selections for attractions with shorter wait times.
As you make additional plans, consider the
Enchanting Extras Collection. My family now loves to try a new experience each time we visit.
Caring for Giants and
Up Close with Rhinos at Disney's Animal Kingdom were budget-friendly for us and we had a wonderful time learning more about the animals. If you can splurge, try
Savor the Savanna.
Kathleen, I hope your husband is able to qualify for DAS. I know how helpful it has been for my family to navigate the parks. Remember to also review the
Guide Maps and the
Accessibility Planning Guide for Guests with Disabilities. May your packing be swift and your travels safe!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
