Hey Howdy Hey Teresa and welcome back to planDisney!
While any trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is Magical, finding a discount on parts of the trip like Theme Park Tickets comes with a little extra pixie dust before your vacation. Thank you for stopping by with your question about Theme Park Tickets. I will be happy to give you more information so you can better plan for your upcoming trip.
When purchasing
Theme Park Tickets, the most common ticket purchased are date-based tickets. With date-based tickets, you need to select a day you will want to start to use your tickets. Depending on how many days you have in the parks will determine your
valid use periods of the tickets. For example, the purchase of a 3-day ticket will have an expiration date 5 days after the selected start date, a 4-day ticket will have an expiration date 7 days after the selected start date and so on. In most cases, this scenario applies to all date-based tickets no matter where you purchase them from. Since Theme Park Reservations are no longer required for this ticket type, you can visit any park you want within the valid use periods. If you did want to upgrade your tickets, say adding the
Park Hopper Option, you can do that by
calling Disney or visiting a Ticket Window while onsite.
In the event you were unable to use your tickets within that window, you still do have an option. In most cases, Disney will allow you to apply the amount of your unused and expired Theme Park Ticket to the purchase of a new ticket with new validation dates. This process would have to be carried out either by calling Disney or by visiting a Ticket Window or Guest Services where a Cast Member would be able to get this done for you.
I hope this helped give you more details and your options for your tickets during your upcoming trip. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach back out and let us know, we are always happy to help!
Have a Magical day,
Nick
