Hi Tiffany! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
Character Dining Experiences are a fantastic way to enjoy a delicious meal and meet some of your Character pals in a relaxed setting. Quick tip: if you have trouble securing Storyteller's Café,
Goofy's Kitchen in Disneyland Hotel is a great alternative, since it's close to Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and features some of the same Characters.
I would recommend booking two smaller group reservations for
Storytellers Café. There are a couple of reasons for my recommendation. First, even though one child will be able to eat off someone's plate, Cast Members will still want to be set up and ready for them. Second, even for a party of six people, I'd recommend trying two smaller group reservations. This Character Dining Experience is very popular and you might have difficulty securing seating for six on the day and time you're hoping for, whereas you'll probably have better luck with smaller groups.
That doesn't mean that you will necessarily be seated far away from your group, however! Once you arrive, I'd suggest chatting with the Cast Member at the podium. Let them know your groups would appreciate being seated as closely together as possible. They'll do whatever they can to facilitate that, although it might mean waiting just a little bit to make the magic happen.
If you haven't ever explored
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, take the time to do so on your visit. It's absolutely beautiful. We like to book a dining reservation at
Napa Rose on our visits. The food is perfection, but so is the setting!
Have a magical visit!
