Welcome, Stacy! We're so happy to have you here at planDisney, and thank you for bringing us your question.
Dressing up as the 'Mistress of All Evil,' herself? In Maleficent's own words, that is indeed, "
Quite a glittering assemblage."
The
costume guidelines for Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party offer some helpful advice for party-goers who wish to don their most spellbinding attire. As you might imagine, the guidelines state that costumes may not contain weapons, items that may be mistaken as a weapon, or contain sharp objects that may strike other Guests. I think a scepter that is clearly a prop, might be acceptable, but it may be subject to additional screening, and the ultimate decision is left to the Cast Members at security. It may be a good idea to have a backup plan for storing your scepter, just in case. I would also encourage you to ensure that your costume does not touch or drag on the ground, as this may also be prohibited. For your convenience, I'll also share the
Disneyland Resort Park Rules, as they can be helpful reminders for any visit, not only during special ticketed events!
As you may know, tickets for
Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party will go on sale to the general public on June 29, while
Magic Key Holders will have a special pre-sale for a limited amount of tickets starting June 27. I like to keep my eye on the
Special Event Tickets page and the
Disney Parks Blog for more updates on Oogie Boogie Bash, and other separately ticketed events.
Stacy, I sure hope this is helpful. More than anything, I hope you have a spine-chilling time at Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party during your next visit. With all the frightfully fun entertainment, spooky treats, and villainous character experiences, this is
one invitation Maleficent most definitely deserves to receive! If we can help with anything else in the meanwhile, I hope you'll feel welcome to
reach out again.
Happy Haunts,
Tishra
