I'm planning way ahead for our first Disney Christmas, but if something unexpected comes up, and I should need to change the date of my unused park tickets, and the new date is a lower price, do I receive a refund?

Hi Sarah. Thank you so much for bringing your festive question to us here at planDisney.

Christmas is my favorite time of year and there is no better way to spend it than at the Walt Disney World Resort. The parks are decorated beautifully, there are special holiday treats available, and the spirit of the season is in the air. Just be sure to secure your reservation at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, theme park tickets, and Theme Park Reservations as soon as possible as this is a very popular time to visit the resort. There will be limited availability as we get closer and closer to the holidays. In fact, some parks are known to reach capacity during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, so planning ahead is essential!

It's important to note that tickets to the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks are nonrefundable and nontransferable. However, if you'd like to change the date, you can usually do so. Just keep in mind that if the tickets are more expensive for your new dates, you will be required to pay the difference. Furthermore, if the tickets for the new dates are less expensive, no refunds will be given.

Sarah, I hope you have a wonderful holiday visit to the resort. Did you know that while Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is usually exclusively available to those Guests attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, it usually runs in the daytime during the last week in December? Be sure to follow along with the Disney Parks Blog for any announcements related to this year's festivities.

If you have any other questions about your magical holiday visit, please be sure to reach out again!

Christmas is a togethery sort of holiday,
