Hi Monica. I have two questions before we start. First, do you wear a dress? Second, do you have an animal sidekick (a pet will do)? If so, according to our friend Maui, you're a princess!
Maui is definitely a highlight of
Moana. He's just got such a great presence and as we all know by now, underneath all that confidence and bravado, he's got a heart of gold. I would absolutely love to meet him one day!
At this time, Maui is not meeting Guests nor is he part of a current attraction. He's likely in the islands of Hawaii practicing his shapeshifting skills now that Te Fiti has fixed his hook! You can, however,
meet Moana of Motunui at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and ask her what Maui has been up to lately. She also often joins the
Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade at
Magic Kingdom Park. Plus, the
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana walkthrough attraction at
EPCOT should be opening this coming fall and will likely be open when you visit in December. And while nothing has been confirmed and I can't make any promises, who knows who may show up in that attraction? I mean, besides
Te Fiti, who can already be spotted while riding the
Walt Disney World Monorail! Stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements as your trip gets closer!
Speaking of EPCOT, the
transformation of this park should be completed by the end of 2023. Not only will there be the new
Moana-inspired attraction, but there will also be a new home for Mickey & Friends, a brand-new nighttime spectacular on World Showcase Lagoon, and Communicore Hall, which will be the center of festival programming.
Monica, I hope you have a wonderful holiday visit to the resort. If you have any other questions,
please reach out to me and I won't even obnoxiously say "You're welcome" after answering them!
If the current's warm, you're going the right way,
Matt
