Hello, if I'm in a party of six people and we all purchase genie plus for the day at magic Kingdom, at 7:00 a.m can two of us get a lightning lane for one ride and at 7:00am the other four get a lightning lane for a different ride?

    Hi Sally,

Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney. I am happy to help you with your question about using Disney Genie+ Service to make Lightning Lane selections!

I have good news for you, Sally. You should be able to do just what you are asking about - selecting part of your traveling party for one Lightning Lane and part of your traveling party for another. When you make a Lightning Lane selection, the My Disney Experience App is going to give you all of the possible people for whom you can make a Lightning Lane selection at that time. Those would be people who you are linked to who have a theme park ticket, theme park reservation, and for whom you have purchased Disney Genie+ service for that day. From this list, you will be able to select the guests for whom you are making a Lightning Lane selection, so simply only choose the guests for each Lightning Lane selection that you wish.

Making different Lightning Lane selections throughout the day for your traveling party makes a lot of sense to me. Certainly, different people within the same party may have different wishes about what attractions to experience! For example, let's say that you are spending the day at EPCOT. Some of the thrill seekers in your group might want to experience the rush of Test Track, while younger guests or guests who might just prefer a less thrilling attraction might want to take in Frozen Ever After. You can make Lightning Lane selections for different members of your party for each of these. Later in the day, perhaps the whole group wants to go on the iconic Spaceship Earth. You can make a Lightning Lane selection later for the whole group for that.

One more note, Sally. You mentioned selecting your first Lightning Lanes at 7:00 a.m., and I do think this is wise. This is the earliest that you can make a Lightning Lane selection, and the best way to get the earliest time for these selections. This will allow you to get started early and experience even more on your Disney day.

I hope that these thoughts were helpful for you, Sally! Please feel free to come back to planDisney if you have any further planning questions.
