I'm participating in the Princess Half Marathon next month. We are planning on going to the parks Friday & Saturday before the race. Do you have any suggestions on how I can get to the EXPO but not miss out on too much time with my family in the parks?

Hi Rebecca!  I also usually make race weekends a Disney vacation for my family, and this is what I do.  I usually plan to be at the expo right when it opens on Friday morning.  The line will look long, but it moves extremely fast.  I was there marathon weekend when there are almost triple the number of runners.  I got to the expo before it opened and had my bib, bag and t-shirt in hand in less than 10 minutes.  Generally my family will eat breakfast at the resort and then make their way over to the parks when they get up.  I take the bus to the expo, get my essentials, and look around for about 45 minutes to an hour.  It's nice to have some time to look around by yourself.  If you think your kids or husband may like the expo, you could always take them back later.  Then, I head back on the bus to to my resort and meet up with the family at the park.  Since the expo opens at 9, I think you could easily be back with your family by 10:30, even allowing for some browsing time at the expo.  Sometimes the details sound way more complicated than it actually is!!  Good luck with your training, and please let me know if I can help with any other questions!
